This event will be held in the smaller back room rather than the gym, so participation will be strictly limited to those who RSVP.

So, if you do RSVP, make darn sure you come or release your spot to someone else at least 24 hours prior to the event (no shows will be strictly monitored)

Note: There will be a handful of RSVP spots reserved for our regulars and benefactors - please join the waiting list for consideration.

Note: Due to city budget constraints, MLK is no longer able to offer us the court for free, and there will be a mandatory $3/person court fee payable at the front desk upon arrival Since this fee will also be used to provide equipment, we're no longer soliciting donations for new balls.

I was born in '77. I'm not trying to steal his thunder or anything, but all of those movies Jacob referenced were released before he was born. (they are of my generation) Sorry man, you're a 90's child. And that's ok, the 90's were better than the 80's anyway.

still need more and Jacob '89 barely classifies you as 80's, try being born in 1980, and then we can talk, lol!

Looks like we have the magical 12 at least. Strange, usually we have a lot more people sign up when they find out Lawrence isn't playing ;^)

NOTE: I was born in 1989. I grew up with either "The Goonies," "The Princess Bride," or "Back to the Future" rolling across my television screen. Huey Lewis and the News is consistently ranked in my top favorite bands. I've never really been the same since I found out trickle-down economics probably doesn't work... 80'S BORN. 80'S BRED. 80'S TRUE BLOOOOOOOOOOOD 4 LIFE.

Good news, I will be there at 6:30 sharp, won't be late at all. Bad news, it's because I'm unemployed.

"One movie in the eighties"? Let's not discount the incredible impact that film had on pop culture; to this day people still toss the phrases "wax on, wax off", "Mr. Miyagi", and "Daniel-san" all over the place. Besides, to be analogous Jacob would've had to been unable to identify a photo of MJ... even without Jesse's help I'm fairly certain he would've been able to. /schoolin' fools about the trilogy (since the fourth film is not be mentioned)

Jacob's familiarity with 'Karate Kid' and never having seen Thriller, Bad, etc puts the nail in the coffin about Michael Jackson being only hyped up recently because he recently died. If the younger generation knows the villian in one movie in the 80's, and not MJ, surely his cultural impact is exaggerated?

Fortunately, this game is at night so even if I crash at 7 am tommorow morning, I'll be able to sleep long enough to make up for it. In other news, my doc says I've got tendinitis so I have to wear the cutest little brace thingy you've ever seen... I wonder if it'll get as much attention as Mikey's wacky contraption did.

Didn't I learn anything. I basically popped your "Thriller-Cherry". Yeah, I said it. I spent Saturday night at Ristow's house showing him all the classic Michael Jackson videos on youtube.com. This youngster had never seen Thriller or Smooth Criminal. KIDS THESE DAYS!!!
